About BRC
BRC was first published by the British Retail Consortium (BRC) in 1998 under the name “BRC Food Technical Standard”. It is a quality certification program that is carried out by the supplier organizations with the certificate issued by BRC-accredited certification bodies over a worldwide network.
BRC is adopted by food supplier organizations, especially by whom those supply products to UK retail companies. However, in line with the demands of the developing industry in recent years, it has been adopted as a program accepted all over the world.
BRC Consumer Products Standard, initially published in 2003, supports the needs of the consumer products industry worldwide. It deals with hygiene and food safety issues, which are of primary importance for consumers, with the principle of risk assessment
